Introduced to my work through Confessions for a Son, Paul Janeway, frontman and vocalist for Birmingham, Alabama–based rock and roll soul band St. Paul & The Broken Bones asked if I’d be interested in collaborating on their soon-to-be release album Young Sick Camellia. Paul shared the rough tracks and we discussed the albums themes, agreeing that the State Flower of Alabama could provide a rich metaphor for his family history. The project consisted of a studio shoot here in San Francisco, making portraits with the band in East Nashville, TN, and photographing their 2018 performance at the Bonnaroo Music Festival. It was a huge pleasure collaboration with Paul, the band, and TTMGMT.[-]
